Merry Little Christmas

I received the stamp set "Merry Little Christmas" last week and had this idea in my head for sometime and finally put it on paper.  The "Merry" was cut out of Red Glimmer paper and adhered using Tombo Multi Mono Glue along with the strips of Designer Series Paper.  Allowed to dry completely and then I embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Sponged around the edges with Gumball Green.  Stamped the sentiment on Real Red card stock with Versamark and used White embossing powder. I then cut it in half and used the oval punches.  Popped them up on dimensionals.

Masculine Sympathy Card

I recently needed a masculine sympathy card and the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper worked great.  I started out by putting Versamark on my stamp first, then applied Cajun Craze, stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I did the same with the sentiment only using Early Espresso.  I really like how this turned out.

Merry Snow Day

Just had to get this Snow Day stamp set, Snowmen are to stinkin' cute!
He is stamped in Whisper White Craft ink, then I put some re-inker in the lid of the case with a little water and painted him solid white.  This can either be left to dry or use a heat tool to speed up the drying time.  The snow at the bottom was created by tearing the edge of Whisper White card stock, then embossing with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I then applied Versamark on the rough edge of the paper and used Iridescent Ice embossing powder for some sparkly snow.  Snowflakes in the background were also embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The ball cap was made by applying the Washi tape to some Whisper White card stock and then punched out with the Petite Curly Label punch.  Took some paper snips and trimmed off the points on the side of the hat.  Punched another for the bill of the cap in Cherry Cobbler and trimmed off a small piece.  Hat is popped up on a dimensional.  The scarf was made by crocheting a chain, knotting the end and then leaving enough end to fray.  Using the paper piercer, I made a hole on each side of his neck and run the scarf through the holes and held down at the knot with a glue dot. Candy Dots for buttons and the "Merry" was glued directly on top with some Tombow Multi-Mono Liquid Glue.

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Flower Shop Thank You

I saw a card on Pinterest that did this technique and wanted to give it a try.  First stamp image in Whisper White Craft Ink.  You can set it aside to dry or use your heat tool to speed up the drying time.  Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I lined up the flower then slightly moved it over so some of the white was showing and then stamped.  I did the same for the leaves but stamped again on top of the Gumball Green with the two-step part of the leaf from the Stippled Blossoms stamp set in Garden Green.  I then added some Dazzling Details in the centers of the flowers.

Merry

Trying out the new Expressions Thinlits die, so fun!
I have always been more for traditional Christmas colors, but I am loving this new color combo in the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper.  I was going to use Pool Party for the "Merry" but it did not so up very well so I used Bermuda Bay.  The sentiment was lined up with a stamp-a-ma-jig, then I used a post-it note to mask off the Merry part of the stamp.  Added the silver ribbon for some sparkle.

My First Christmas Card

The Holiday Catalog is awesome!  I just had to make a Christmas card as they are my favorite.  The Winter Frost Designer Series Paper is Gorgeous.  The packages are embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  First I applied Versamark to the stamp and then Coastal Cabana before embossing.  Using the Squares Collection Framelits I made a frame out of
Bermuda Bay to showcase the packages.  Silver embossing powder for the sentiment and some fabulous new bling!

Sketch Challenge using Sketched Birthday!

Playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches this week.
The Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper is very bright and cheery, love it!  I cut the diagonal 1 1/2" x 6" and then using Tombo Multi Mono Liquid Glue adhered the ruffle trim and set aside to dry.  Using water color paper I stamped the cake with Black Stazon and used blender pens to water color the image and then added some Dazzling Details to the candle flame for a little sparkle.  Punched with scallop circle and layered onto the Bermuda Bay circle and popped up on dimensionals.  I glued the diagonal strip to the Coastal Cabana and then trimmed off the edges.

Birthday Butterflies

I saw a card like this on Pinterest.  The negative space of the butterfly had Designer Series Paper behind it and just had to make one for myself.  It makes a bright and cheery birthday card.  The small butterflies were punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch and then used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on them for some texture and Dazzling Details for some sparkle.  The antennae are made with the stamp from Papillon Potpourri.   I am really liking the Washi tape!

Coastal Cabana Sympathy

Hello Everyone, hope you're having a fabulous weekend.  I've done some water coloring with Coastal Cabana on the flower. I did use some Whisper White Craft Ink to add some highlights to the top of the petals for added contrast.  Pear Pizzazz for the stems and some Soft Sky around the image.  Paired Coastal Cabana with Island Indigo which really made the image pop!  Embossed the Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and added some ribbon.

Floral Thank You

Trying out the new Simply Pressed Clay using some Crisp Cantaloupe re-inker.  I put the clay in a plastic baggie with the re-inker and worked it into the clay.  Once incorporated, I was able to roll it around in my hands without getting re-inker all over me.  After they dried, I applied a light coat of Crystal Effects to make them shinny.  My fabulous up line Julie Davison challenged us to CASE (copy and share everything) a project from the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  I chose the card on page 27, as I thought it would be cute with the new clay flowers.

Sympathy in Cantaloupe

Trying out a Hostess Set that will be in the New Catalog Starting June 1st along with the New In-Color Crisp Cantaloupe!
I stamped the flower image with Versamark and then heat embossed using black embossing powder onto water color paper.  Then using the Classic Ink Pad with a little ink pressed into the lid, I colored the image with water and paint brush.  I feel I have more control over the amount of water I need doing it this way.  To give the image a little depth, I painted around it with some Soft Sky. Card base is Naturals Ivory with an Oval of Cantaloupe Crisp and image cut out using the Labels Collection Framelits.  Image popped up with dimensionals.

Water Color Flower Garden

I saw this technique and had to try it as I love to water color!  First emboss the water color paper with the Flower Garden Embossing folder.  Then I put a drop of Daffodil Delight re-inker onto a plastic lid with a little water and started painting the center.  I did the same with the Pretty in Pink and Gumball Green.  I wanted to highlight the edges of the flowers and stems a bit more for definition.  Once dry, I used the brush tip of my marker to make the raised areas a little darker.  I used the Color Spritzer Tool with the Crumb Cake marker to spray on some background color.  Embossed and sponged some butterflies, added a sentiment and some brads.  Easy Peasey!

Secret Garden Thank You

Well, I finally got my computer fixed!  It did not want to upload my photos from my camera, UGH!    I recently took a trip and had a good friend watch my Furry Feline Friends while we were away.   So I wanted to make a super special thank you card for her.  Her favorite color is Orange (see her birthday card) but decided to add a little extra color.

I started with a base of Whisper White card stock. Using the leaf from the Secret Garden Framlits, I cut out four leaves and lightly tacked them down with snail.  Next I filled a spritzer with Pool Party re-inker, Champagne Shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol and spritzed my paper.  After the paper dried I removed my leaf templates to reveal the white underneath them.  Next I stamped the flowers and then some leaves.  The Flower Trim was soaked in Pumpkin Pie re-inker and water and then placed on a paper towel to dry.  I really like the background, it really has depth.  I only wish I could pick up the shimmer on camera!

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Anniversary Celebration

A co-worker of mine needed an anniversary card for her in-laws and she asked me to make a card for her.  This is what I made.  The Very Vanilla was first die cut and then I stamped the flourish and the watermark dots with Sahara Sand Ink.  I then ran it through the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and sponged the edge with Crumb Cake Ink.  To give the two Full Hearts a little more definition, I sponged them in Midnight Muse Ink.  I adhered the female heart to the Very Vanilla and popped the male heart up on dimensionals.  I can't wait to hear how they liked their card!

Bordering Beautiful Birthday

I posted a card on Saturday using this same technique.  Click Here to see that post.
I wanted to see what it would look like using Pretty in Pink card stock.  First emboss image with white embossing powder and heat set.  Then I used a light application of Pretty in Pink Classic Ink mixed with water and then added some Melon Mambo.  Be very careful with the amount of water that you use or the paper will pill.  Gumball Green for the leaves and the two small flowers with Daffodil Delight.  Added some Basic Pearls in the centers of the flowers.
I really love the look of the flowers.  Next I think I'll try Wisteria Wonder card stock with Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant!

Birthday Flowers

I saw this technique on Heather Telford's Blog and just had to try it.
Stampin' Up! style of course ;-)

Embossed the Bordering on Romance flowers in white on Daffodil Delight card stock.  Heather used water color pencils on her card, I used water and SU Classic Ink instead.  First I did a light wash of Pumpkin Pie all over the petal and then added a bit more for some shading.  Be very careful, too much water will make the card stock pill!  Did the same with the Gumball Green on the leaves.  Added some Dazzling Details to the center of the flowers for some sparkle.  I really like this technique, I think I might try a pink background next!

Thinking of Spring

I am so ready for Spring!  Thought I would play along with the MOJO Monday Sketch this week and SUO Challenge #67 Spring is in the Air.
I already had the bird scene water colored so I thought I would add it in.  I wanted something unique for the sentiment, decided to use the Secret Garden Framelit and cut out a flower to stamp it on.  It was a little boring all by itself so I added the scallop circle and some leaves.  I like the way it turned out.  The Oval Scallop was made with the Ovals Collection Framelits, sponged with some Raspberry Ripple and Embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Folder.  Added a little bling to the flowers with some Dazzling Details.

Thanks for stopping by,

Vintage Sympathy

I have seen many beautiful vintage looking cards and wanted to give it a try myself.  I needed a Sympathy card, not my favorite to make, but the recipient will know it's made from the heart!
The Very Vanilla panel was first stamped with the flourish from Everything Eleanor stamp set.  I used Sahara Sand stamped off once.  Then I added the watermarks from French Foliage stamp set along with the script both in Sahara Sand stamped off once.  Next I sponged around the edges and some what onto the card with Crumb Cake.  Used the distressing tool to rough up the edges and then sponged the rough edges with Crumb Cake.  The Wisteria Wonder panel was also distressed and sponged with Elegant Eggplant.  I stamped the stems with Lucky Limeade and then added a touch of Gumball Green with the marker to give it some dimension with a little highlighting from a white gel pen.

Up, Up and Away!

I needed one more Easter card for my Niece and thought she would like this Bunny in a balloon.
Once again, I decided to water color my image using my SU Classic Ink Pads.  The sky was done by cutting a wavy piece of card stock and then sponging with a sponge dauber with Bashful Blue.  I then moved the card stock into different positions to sponge to achieve the look of clouds.  Hope everyone has a great week!

I just can't help myself, I think the bunnies in the "Everybunny" stamp set are to stinkin' cute!
I needed to make one more Easter card to send out and The Paper Player Sketch  #137
was calling my name.  My two favorite colors together are Pool Party and Pink Pirouette, very pastel and reminds me of Easter eggs.  The bunnies were water colored using paint brushes, water and Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Pads.  Hope everyone is having a great week.

Easter Mojo

Playing along with the Mojo Monday Sketch 283!  I decided to do another Easter card, after that I only have one more to go.  Chose my colors from the Print Poetry DSP.  The Bunny was water colored and then I paper pieced his eggshell. Some Dazzling Details on his scarf and the strips on the egg.  I used the Large Paper Doily Sizzlit as a back drop for the bunny.  Trimmed it down so it would fit the way I wanted it to.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Embossing on Print Poetry DSP

Thought of this idea this morning and just had to put it together.  I wanted something easy and not too bulky to mail.  Stamping the flowers first using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for position and then embossed with white embossing powder. I then did the stems, leaf and sentiment.  I sponged around the edges of the DSP with Night of Navy.  Stamped the butterfly on a scrap of the DSP and popped it up on a glue dot.  Layered onto Bashful Blue and attached to the card base in Night of Navy.  I really like the contrast in the shades of blue.

Water Color Bunny

The Everybunny stamp set is so fun!  I love to water color with my Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Pads.  I stamped the Bunny with Black Stazon along with the flowers from the Bunny in the Egg Balloon.  I paper pieced her dress using Print Poetry DSP, the hem was colored with a white gel pen.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I added some Dazzling Details to the flower trail and the center of the flowers on her dress.  Just a fun one layer card.

Easter Bunny

I just received my new stamp set Everybunny on Friday so I thought I would ink it up!
Really liked the Mojo Monday Sketch this week so thought I would play along.
The Bunny was stamped with Black Stazon and water colored with my Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Shades of Pink!

I am not sure of the name of this technique, but I found this beautiful card by
Karen Barber at Splitcoaststampers with a brief description of how she made her flowers.
The flowers are heat embossed in white, then with Whisper White Craft Ink and a little water I painted the flowers white and allowed to dry over night.  The paper starts to pill if it is too wet!  I used a paint brush and my re-inkers with a little water to get this creamy looking color.

Thanks for stopping by :-)
